How Creature Poker's Ranked System Works
Ranked competitive play is coming to Creature Poker. Here’s how the system is designed — built from the ground up to reward skill, not spending.
Seven Tiers
The ranked ladder has seven tiers, each with three divisions (III, II, I):
- Bronze — Starting tier for all players
- Silver — Demonstrating core game knowledge
- Gold — Solid understanding of type matchups and betting
- Platinum — Advanced combo strategies and opponent reading
- Diamond — Expert-level play across all aspects
- Master — Top competitive players (no divisions, LP-based)
- Mythic — The absolute pinnacle (top 500 players)
You earn League Points (LP) for wins and lose them for losses. Win enough LP to promote to the next division. Drop below zero to demote. Master and Mythic tiers use raw LP rankings instead of divisions.
Monthly Seasons
Each ranked season lasts one month. At the end of each season:
- Your rank soft-resets (drops by roughly one full tier)
- You receive season rewards based on your peak rank
- The leaderboard archives are preserved permanently
Season rewards are exclusively cosmetic: card backs, profile borders, and titles that show your competitive history.
Prestige System
Prestige points accumulate across all seasons based on your performance. They never reset. The more seasons you compete in, the more prestige you build.
Prestige unlocks a separate progression track with exclusive rewards:
- Unique card skins that visually distinguish veteran players
- Battlefield effects and animations
- Permanent titles and profile decorations
Prestige rewards are cosmetic only. A new player with perfect play beats a veteran with prestige skins every time — the skins just look cool.
The Season Seat
The top 100 players at the end of each season earn a Season Seat. This is the most exclusive achievement in Creature Poker:
- A unique badge displayed next to your name permanently
- Your name etched into the Hall of Champions
- An exclusive Season Seat card skin for that season’s creature of the month
Season Seats cannot be bought. They are earned only through competitive excellence over the course of an entire season.
Skill-Based Matchmaking
Ranked uses a hidden MMR (matchmaking rating) system to pair you with opponents of similar skill, regardless of displayed rank. This means:
- Games are consistently competitive
- Smurfs are quickly identified and ranked up
- Your displayed rank converges to your true skill over time
No Pay-to-Win in Ranked
This cannot be overstated: ranked matchmaking has zero paid advantages. Every creature, ability, and combo in the game is available to all players through normal gameplay. Your rank reflects your skill — period.
The ranked system launches alongside the beta. Until then, sharpen your skills against the AI.
